Attempted Armed Robbery Reported in Wheaton Triangle Area

Montgomery County police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the Wheaton Triangle area on January 27, 2026.

According to authorities, officers responded to a call around 6:58 PM in the 11200 block of Triangle Lane. Police say an adult male suspect approached another adult male and displayed a weapon while demanding money.

The attempt was unsuccessful, and the suspect fled the area before officers arrived. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male, approximately 35 years old. No additional identifying details have been released.

Investigators are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact Montgomery County police at (301) 279-8000. Tips from the public may assist in identifying the suspect and advancing the investigation.
