Rockville Police Identify Suspect in Wootton High School Shooting
Rockville City police have identified a suspect in connection with a shooting that injured one person inside Thomas S. Wootton High School. Authorities say the incident occurred yesterday afternoon and remains under active investigation.
According to police, a 16-year-old Rockville resident has been charged as an adult. The charges include attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and multiple firearm-related offenses, including possession of a weapon on school property. The suspect is currently being held at the county jail pending a bond hearing.
Detectives also confirmed the firearm allegedly used in the incident was a Polymer80 9mm handgun. Officials noted that the investigation is ongoing and additional details may be released as they become available.
