Ace Hardware Opens in Rockville
Rockville now has its first Ace Hardware store.
The new location has opened at 835 Rockville Pike in Wintergreen Plaza, giving local homeowners and DIY shoppers a convenient place to pick up tools, supplies, and seasonal essentials without leaving the city.

While a couple of projected opening dates came and went, the store officially welcomed customers just as a Nor’easter moved into the region. That timing couldn’t have been better. Snow shovels, ice melt, driveway salt, windshield scrapers, and even snow blowers were suddenly in high demand as temperatures dipped below freezing.

Ace Hardware is known for its neighborhood-store feel, and this location appears to embrace that tradition. The store closes daily at 6:00 p.m., a schedule longtime Rockville residents say feels familiar. Earlier local hardware shops, including Mack’s Hardware and Wire Hardware, also kept 6:00 p.m. closing hours.
For many shoppers, that old-school approach adds to the appeal. With winter weather rolling through and spring home projects around the corner, the new Ace gives Rockville residents another reliable stop for everyday home improvement needs.
