Nor’easter Brings Minor Snow, Scattered Power Outages to Bethesda

Nor’easter Brings Minor Snow, Scattered Power Outages to Bethesda

A powerful Nor’easter that delivered heavy snow to parts of the Northeast had only limited impact in Bethesda.

While snow flurries continued through the morning, most roads remained wet rather than snow-covered. Pavement temperatures, helped by several days of mild and sunny weather, prevented major accumulation. Drivers reported occasional slush patches, but no widespread icing.

The main concern has been scattered power outages. Crews responded overnight to disruptions in Bannockburn, near Josiah Henson Parkway, along Bradley Boulevard between Goldsboro Road and the Capital Beltway, and in parts of Chevy Chase, Glen Echo Heights, and near River Road.

Local public works teams were active early, and residents praised the preparation efforts.

For now, Bethesda appears to have avoided the worst of this winter system.
