Police Respond to Multiple Incidents at Orchard Center in Silver Spring

Montgomery County police responded to two separate incidents at Orchard Center in the White Oak area of Silver Spring on the evening of February 4, 2026, according to local reports.

The first call came around 8:00 PM after a suspected shoplifting incident at a grocery store located at 12028 Cherry Hill Road. Officers arrived at the scene and detained an individual while investigating the situation. Authorities reported discovering illegal substances and related items during the response.

Roughly an hour later, police were called back to the same location following another reported shoplifting case. The second incident escalated into an assault investigation, prompting a larger law enforcement response.

No additional details about injuries or arrests were immediately released.

The back-to-back calls kept officers active throughout the evening and drew attention from nearby residents and shoppers. Local authorities have not indicated whether the two incidents were connected.
